Current Champions and Favorites for the Semifinals in the Mexican Pacific League
The current champion, Águilas de Mexicali, and Mayos de Navojoa will be the favorites to advance to the 2017-2018 Mexican Pacific League (LMP) Final Series for the title.
After a highly competitive first playoff, Águilas will host Tomateros de Culiacán at B-Air Stadium in the first semifinal series, on their way to the winter circuit crown which Mexicali aims to defend.
In the other series, the Navojoa tribe will host Charros de Jalisco at Manuel Ciclón Echeverría Stadium, who want to advance to the Final Series and potentially host the upcoming 2018 Caribbean Series, which will be held at their home.
Both semifinal series will begin today and will be best of seven.
The team that becomes champion this season will represent Mexican winter baseball in the 2018 Caribbean Series, which will take place in February at Pan American Stadium in Guadalajara, Jalisco.
