UK assistant Joel Justus previews Texas A&M game Jon Hale/The Courier-Journal
LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky basketball team will be without one starter Tuesday night against Texas A&M.
Quade Green is out with a back strain, UK confirmed 30 minutes prior to tipoff.
The freshman point guard is averaging 10.7 points, 3.4 assists and 2.1 rebounds this season. Freshman Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will likely start in Green's place.
Green, who was not in a team picture posted from Kentucky's Twitter account Tuesday afternoon, led the Wildcats in scoring on Saturday at Tennessee with 14 points. He's started all but two games this season and played through an eye injury, which forced him to wear protective glasses, in December.
The Wildcats are also without Tai Wynyard (back), Jarred Vanderbilt (foot) and Jemarl Baker (knee), leaving them just seven scholarship players availavle to play.
