On that occasion, Tevez scored the first goal of the match. The former Juventus player defeated Gustavo Rover's goal at 31 minutes. Then, Sporting Cristal tried to recover with a goal from Luis Bonnet, but Boca Juniors prevailed.

Finally, Boca Juniors defeated Sporting Cristal 3-2, who was led by Wilmar Valencia. In the rematch, the 'celestes' fell 2-1 at La Bombonera, and Tevez scored again.

After his time in Brazil, England, Italy, and China, Tevez was announced as the new signing of Boca Juniors, a club currently coached by Guillermo Barros Schelotto.
