Heiko Westermann arrives in Sevilla
The German center-back Heiko Westermann is already in Sevilla. Past noon, he landed at San Pablo airport from where he headed to the clinic where he will undergo a medical examination and sign his new contract with Betis. Coming from Hamburg, where he became a free agent, just like Van der Vaart, and about to turn 32, he will bring the experience and solidity that the team's defense needed.
Westermann has been an international player with the German national team and last season he played 31 matches in the Bundesliga, accumulating more than 300 games. With his national team, he has played 27 matches between the years 2008 and 2013.
The next position to reinforce will be the left back, and as this newspaper revealed, the one with the highest chances is the Peruvian ex-Fiorentina player Juan Manuel Vargas.
