Gerardo Ameli Moves from Peruvian to Chilean Football
Gerardo Ameli left Peruvian football to join the Chilean league, where he will assume the coaching role at Club Deportes Antofagasta. The team aims to compete for the championship in the Chilean first division.
Through a Twitter statement, the "puma" team expressed that "during the course of the day, an agreement was reached with the coaching staff led by Gerardo Ameli to lead Antofagasta in 2018."

Will he recruit any Peruvian players for his new team? The former coach of Sport Rosario and Deportivo Municipal may have found some good players during his time in Peru, so it is not unreasonable to think that he could bring a Peruvian player to the Chilean league.
After a great first half of the year with Sport Rosario, Gerardo Ameli moved to Deportivo Municipal, a team he resigned from with two matches left in the closing of the 2017 Torneo Clausura. In 2018, he will seek to improve on what was achieved in the Peruvian league last year.
The new coach of Deportes Antofagasta will work with Walter Fiori and Hernán Pennesi (assistant coaches), Hernán Torres (fitness coach), and Robert Prieto (goalkeeper coach). The presentation of the coaching staff will be on Monday, January 8th.
