MONTERREY -- Nicolás Gaitán, player of Atlético de Madrid, has been linked to reinforce Rayados de Monterrey in the Clausura 2018, but his high salary could be an obstacle to play in the Liga MX.

Duilio Davino, president of Club de Futbol Monterrey, acknowledged that there are players who play in Europe that are of interest to the institution, but he clarified that some players are priced above what can be paid in Mexican soccer.

"As the days go by, it seems that opportunities are presenting themselves more certainly. We do not rule out Europe at all, we have even brought players from there. What we want are quality players, whether they are in one league or another, it is the same for us. What I can tell you is that there are players who can be in top teams in Europe that do not have salaries for these leagues, that's the truth," he said.

The director of the albiazul team expressed that Michael Arroyo is not among the plans to reinforce the team, in addition to leaving the window open for a possible incorporation.

PRESENT URRETAVISCAYA AND ’CHISPA’ VELARDE

Jonathan Urretaviscaya, who will wear the number 10, expressed his desire to be crowned with Rayados after the team was the general leader of the Apertura 2017 and fell in the final against Tigres at the BBVA Bancomer Stadium.

"From the moment I arrived at this team, I know what I came here for. Monterrey seeks titles and that's what I'm here for," said the Uruguayan.

Efraín Velarde said he is satisfied to return to Monterrey after spending the last two years at León and Toluca.

"Very happy with my return, it is one of the biggest institutions in Mexico. In recent years, they have remained at the top. There is a lot of excitement in this new tournament, we are thinking about the championship," he said.
