Damian Lillard, point guard for the Portland Trail Blazers, will return on Tuesday night when his team visits the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to sources from the league told ESPN.
Lillard has missed the last five games due to a right thigh strain that he suffered on December 20 against the San Antonio Spurs. The Trail Blazers won three of their five games during his absence.
Portland (19-17) could have played Lillard on Monday night during their overtime victory against the Chicago Bulls, but they chose not to do so in order to avoid having him play two games in two days upon his return.
The two-time All-Star is averaging 25.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 6.4 assists this season.
Cleveland (24-12) will also have their own point guard, Isaiah Thomas, returning. He will officially debut as a Cavalier on Tuesday night after recovering from a hip injury.
