Vince Carter Reveals How Many More Seasons He Will Continue To Play In NBA

Sacramento Kings 40-year-old forward Vince Carter is still unsure whether he will play beyond 2017-18 NBA season.

Sacramento Kings 40-year-old forward Vince Carter is still unsure whether he will play beyond 2017-18 NBA season.

Although the 2017-18 NBA season has not gone the way forward Vince Carter may have wanted, he managed to turn back the clock with an impressive 24-point performance against the Clevland Cavaliers on Wednesday night. His outing was just the latest example of the 40-year-old showing how much he has left in the tank.

That said, there has been some speculation regarding his playing status beyond this season. For Carter, he is just taking it one year at a time, according to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated:

I have zero plans for New Year’s Eve. None for me. I got to keep it simple. Things like that, in reality, I always have a decision to make. The decision is to go out there, have fun and hang out late. OK, have a drink or two. But now it’s like, how am I going to feel the next day whether I have a practice or game? That’s kind of been my approach the last couple of years. It’s been the right decision for me, so I’m going to stick with it.

Carter had come to Sacramento in the offseason with the hope of playing an integral role for a competitive Kings team. However, as their playoff hopes started to diminish, so did his playing time up until December.

With the Kings now en route to another disappointing season, the trade rumors have started to swirl regarding their veterans. That said, it is unlikely that Carter would want to finish his career playing limited minutes on a floundering team. Do not be surprised to see him potentially land with a contender by year’s end.
