Dana White has been in contact with Conor McGregor since the UFC lightweight champion made over $100 million from his boxing match against Floyd Mayweather in August.
"He's the same Conor," said the UFC president on Friday.
But McGregor clearly isn't the same low-key fighter he was before skyrocketing to fame by knocking out Brazilian Jose Aldo in 13 seconds two years ago.
This year will end without 'Notorious' fighting in the UFC. And there's no doubt that the Irishman will have all the cards in his favor when White looks to bring his star back to the octagon.
"I haven't tried to do anything with Conor. It's the holiday season anyway, there's nothing to do right now," explained White. "Conor is enjoying his money at the moment. We'll start talking soon."
White also mentioned that on Thursday he met with Mayweather to start an exploratory process since he will be venturing into boxing as a promoter.
"I've been talking to everyone in boxing, except Bob Arum [of Top Rank]," commented "I just did business with Al Haymon [Mayweather's manager] and Mayweather. It was a good experience so I met with them first."
He said the discussion wasn't meant to propose becoming the spokesperson for Floyd's fighters.
