A group of UH alumni and supporters, many military personnel stationed on the island of Oahu, attended Sunday's Hawaii Bowl between the Cougars and Fresno State.

There was a tailgate a few hours before kickoff Sunday. On the menu: jambalaya and local cuisine poke, Spam sliders on Hawaiian rolls and Okinawan sweet potato pie.

HONOLULU - In a small section of parking lot outside Aloha Stadium, a University of Houston flag waves in the air.
Elvis Gonzalez slices a brisket with precision.
Not far away, Army Lt. Col. Ryon Adams is wearing an old-school No. 4 jersey.
Just call them the Aloha Coogs, a group of UH alumni and supporters, many military personnel stationed on the island of Oahu, that attended Sunday's Hawaii Bowl between the Cougars and Fresno State.
