Manny Pacquiao could fight in Mexico City in April
The Filipino Manny Pacquiao, one of the most representative boxers in the last 15 years, could fight in Mexico City next April.
Promoter Fernando Beltrán wants to celebrate big on the 25th anniversary of the "Zanfer" promoter and is already in negotiations to bring "Pacman", something that could take place at the Arena Ciudad de México.
Beltrán Rendón emphasized that the Filipino is one of the most important boxers in history, "and especially in the 11 years since boxing returned to Mexican television."
He made it clear that he has the opportunity "and I don't want to miss it, I'm going to fight until I achieve it", confident that he will bring the boxer who has a professional record of 59-7-2, with 38 by knockout.
Pacquiao fought memorable fights in his career against outstanding Mexican figures such as Erik "Terrible" Morales, Juan Manuel Márquez, and Marco Antonio Barrera, the first two of whom defeated him.
On May 2, 2015, he lost in the fight that generated the most revenue in history, against Floyd Mayweather Jr, and he also fell in his last duel, on July 2 last, against Australian Jeff Horn.
"We are in talks, nothing is certain, but we are trying, Mexico deserves to see him," said the promoter, who will end his activities in 2017 this weekend with a function in the country's capital.
