Matilde Alcázar from Mexico expressed her happiness for achieving her second medal at the Para Swimming World Championship, and placing among the top five in the world in the 100-meter breaststroke category S11.

"I am super happy about this result, I really overcame yesterday's nervousness (Saturday) and now I feel much better," she added.

Alcázar, who gradually lost her sight, said that this has been an important achievement in her sports career, as being in Mexico and in such an important venue as the Francisco Márquez Olympic Pool is wonderful.

"I didn't want to miss the opportunity to show my work, I was better focused because yesterday I felt a bit pressured knowing that I was the first Mexican to compete and that got to me, but now I feel very good," she added.

She also mentioned that this way she positions herself among the top five in the world to consider the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. "I have no words to express how I feel about these two medals," she responded.
