Joe Flacco throws for 269 yards and two touchdowns as the Ravens defeat the Lions
Joe Flacco threw for 269 yards and two touchdowns, and the Baltimore Ravens survived a comeback attempt by Matthew Stafford to win 44-20 against the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
Offensive Contributions
After relying on their opportunistic defense for much of the season, the Ravens (7-5) finally received a huge contribution from the 31st-ranked offense in the league. Flacco led Baltimore to a 20-0 halftime lead and led three scoring drives in the fourth quarter to keep the Ravens ahead on the scoreboard.
Record-Breaking Performance
Baltimore's quarterback completed 23 of 36 passes in an offense that did not turn the ball over. Stafford set a team record by completing 20 straight passes in the second half, and twice brought the Lions within a touchdown of their opponents.
Detroit's Struggles
However, Detroit (6-6) suffered their second consecutive loss after a three-game winning streak. Stafford left the game near the end with a right hand injury. He completed 24 of his 29 passes for 292 yards.
