This Sunday begins a new edition of the Tour of Poland

The Polish tour will take place from August 2 to 8, and will feature relevant riders in the current cycling panorama, such as Italian cyclist Fabio Aru, Dutch cyclist Robert Gesink, Spanish cyclists Mikel Nieve and Beñat Intxausti, or Polish rider and current world champion Michal Kwiatkowski, but without the presence of Rafal Majka, winner of the race last year.

The competition will start in Warsaw, with 10 laps around a 12.2-kilometer circuit.

The second and third stage, with finishes in Dabrowa Górnicza and Katowice respectively, are presented as the only opportunities for sprinters to win a stage.

The fourth stage

The fourth stage, with a distance of 220 kilometers between Jaworzno and Nowy Sacz, will be a turning point in the race, with the arrival of the first mountain stages, which will exclude sprinters and allow us to see numerous breakaways and attacks from the general classification riders.

The race will be decided in the fifth and sixth stage.

On the fifth day, riders will travel a distance of 223 kilometers between Nowy Sacz and Zakopane, with 8 categorized climbs. And in the sixth stage, riders will face a demanding circuit that includes 4 climbs to Sciana Bukovina and four ascents to the Zab mountain, both first-category climbs.

To close the competition, the cyclists will face a 25-kilometer individual time trial through the streets and surroundings of Krakow.

In this edition of the Tour of Poland, we will see world-class riders. Among them, we highlight Italian cyclist Fabio Aru (Astana), Dutch cyclist Robert Gesink (Lotto Jumbo-NL), German sprinter Marcel Kittel (Giant-Alpecin), and Polish riders Maciej Bodnar (Tinkoff-Saxo), Przemyslaw Niemec (Lampre-Merida), and Michal Kwiatkowski (Etixx-Quick Step), the current world champion. There will also be notable Spanish riders such as Ion Izagirre and Beñat Intxausti (Movistar) or Mikel Nieve (Sky).
