Guardiola concerned about injuries in Manchester City's defense
Although the results continue to accompany and there are no signs of concern, the coach of Manchester City, Pep Guardiola, has begun to show some uneasiness about the injury problem that accompanies the members of his defense.
Just a few days after recovering Belgian Vincent Kompany from his umpteenth physical problem, Santpedor has seen how the mainstay of his defensive line in the current season, Englishman John Stones, suffered a setback that will keep him away from the fields for at least a month.
Aware that if these types of situations are repeated in the future, the performance of his team could be affected, the coach has already urged the board to consider signing a new center back. Moreover, Guardiola has already put Íñigo Martínez's name on the table, a player whom, according to The Sun, the scouts of the citizens have been monitoring for months.
Although Real Sociedad has no intention of letting him go, the fact that his release clause is a reasonable €30 million makes his signing a fairly affordable option. In addition, the fact that, should the need arise, he can play as a left back (a position also affected by injuries at City) also plays in favor of his possible winter signing.
