Peru seeks qualification for the 2018 World Cup

Peru will seek its qualification for the 2018 World Cup in their second match of the playoffs against New Zealand on Wednesday. Mani Djazmi is a journalist from the BBC who came to Lima to cover the match. In an interview with Depor, the communicator stated that the Peruvian national team has a great chance of advancing, but issued a warning.

"Peru should qualify since they have better players, although New Zealand has more experience. Some of their players have participated in a World Cup before as well as a playoff. That may give them a slight advantage," he said.

Djazmi stated that he would particularly love it if the Peruvian National Team qualifies, but assured that nothing is decided even though the match in Wellington ended in a goalless draw. In that sense, coach Ricardo Gareca will have to be very careful with New Zealand's tactics.

"I believe that if New Zealand maintains the same (defensive) tactic as on Friday and Chris Wood scores, they will have a very good chance of winning," he remarked.

Mani Djazmi is a blind journalist who travels the world to cover important events that he later shares on his radio program on the BBC. The fan of the Peruvian national team hopes that his report on Wednesday will be about qualifying for the 2018 World Cup. The ball is in the court of the 'Tigre's' students.
