River Plate Players Performance

Marcelo Barovero:

The Argentine goalkeeper had a good intervention in the 19th minute, saving a clear header from forward Rafael Sobis. In the second half, he was calm until the 78th minute when he deflected a free-kick from Juninho.

Gabriel Mercado:

He was discreet in marking during the first half. At 41 minutes, he received a new yellow card in the competition and will miss the return match in Buenos Aires.

Jonathan Maidana:

He was the best in the River Plate defense. He was secure in marking and in the first half, he always anticipated French forward André-Pierre Gignac.

Ramiro Funes Mori:

He was very aggressive in the first half. The left side of the defense was always attacked by Tigres. In the second half, he was more secure and generally made long clearances.

Leonel Vangioni:

Every time he was attacked, he responded with strong tackles. In the 4th minute, he was the first one booked in the match. He had two errors where he couldn't control the ball. In the 17th minute, he almost scored an own goal that hit the crossbar.

Matías Kranevitter:

He was correct in intercepting play and always delivered the ball first. He didn't complicate things and is the leader in the Argentine midfield.

Leonardo Ponzio:

At 64 minutes, he was booked due to a lack of legs. He fought, ran, and ended with muscle discomfort. At 75 minutes, Lucho González replaced him.

Carlos Sánchez:

He wasn't the great player that stood out in the last semester with River Plate. His attacks down the right side never came through and he was always contained in defense against Tigres' attacks.

Tabaré Viudez:

In the first 20 minutes of the match, he was the best, showing imbalance on the left and taking a free-kick that almost surprised goalkeeper Nahuel Guzmán. He didn't come out for the second 45 minutes due to a muscle injury.

Lucas Alario:

In the first half, he had a clear goal opportunity that the home goalkeeper saved. After Tabaré Viudez's substitution, he declined in his performance. He ended up alone in the River Plate attack.

Rodrigo Mora:

Without relevance in the visiting forward line. He was missing for the entire 45 minutes. He ended up injured and was replaced by Martínez.

Nicolás Bertolo:

He came on in the second half for Tabaré Viudez. At the beginning, he had two approaches, showing glimpses of quality, but then disappeared.

Gonzalo Martínez:

He took the place of the injured Rodrigo Mora. He didn't have clarity with the ball at his feet.

Luis González:

He came on at 75 minutes due to Leo Ponzio's injury.
