Ona Carbonell says goodbye to solo routines with a hard-earned bronze. "I am very happy, because I have given my best performance. Fighting for a silver when you have the bronze in the preliminary is not easy at all. I have gone all out, I have given everything I had inside. I am very happy to have overcome this situation, very happy with the bronze because I have improved my score and it is a very good score since the rules have changed, and Ana Montero and Gemma Mengual have told me that I have improved a lot compared to the semifinal."
Ona performed a very sentimental choreography, with the goal of reaching the judges' hearts. "The music was proposed to me by Maria José Bilbao, it is a very dramatic, very expressive music in which I can try to reach deep inside the judges which is the goal in the end, it is about capturing the judge's attention, reaching their heart and their eyes, and I think I have achieved that."
The swimmer made an assessment of a World Championship in which she has won a silver and a bronze in the solo routine, a better haul than in Barcelona 2013. "I knew it wasn't easy at all. To get a silver in this World Championship, I leave with a silver and a bronze, I have greatly improved the scores from the Barcelona World Championship (two bronzes), so I am very happy. Both Dedieur and Mengual have told me that they have talked to many judges and coaches, and they have congratulated them for the choreography, for my performance, especially for this artistic part and I have also greatly improved in stability in the technical part. I believe it is a great World Championship as a soloist and I am excited and happy."
