Ally Wakefield is the name of the cheerleader from East High School in Denver, whose video showing how her teammates and even her coach force her to do a split, has caused great commotion in the United States.
And the images reveal how, during a practice, the 13-year-old teenager, a newcomer to the cheerleading team, is forced to open her legs. Her screams and tears don't seem to move the other team members at all.
As reported by 9News Colorado, the painful exercise caused her to suffer a torn muscle in her leg and groin area. Another seven girls went through the same situation, but it was this young girl's family who authorized the video to be released.
"My husband and I want to know what the school administration is going to do about my daughter's injury and how it happened," said Kirsten Wakefield, Ally's mother.
It was learned that Ozell Williams, the cheerleaders' coach, was removed from his position along with his assistant and two district officials. The police are investigating the case as child abuse.
