List of the Most Valuable Football Teams in South America
The list was compiled by Forbes magazine, which takes into account the following factors: the value of the professional squad of the teams (taking into account only the players owned by the club, not those on loan), the cost of their stadium (if it is owned by the team), and the value of their brand.
The magazine conducted the analysis considering the top 15 football leagues in the continent, only the first division of each one.
The ranking is led by Corinthians from Brazil, which has a total value of 576.9 million dollars, a sum that earns them a place among the top 20 most valuable teams in the world.
'Timao' achieves this wealth, among other areas, through revenues of more than 80 million dollars last year and a sponsorship contract with a sports brand that will last until 2022 for 145 million dollars.
