Italian Runner Wins Venice Marathon

In the 32nd edition of the Venice Marathon, six Kenyan athletes leading the race took wrong turns, mistakenly following the bicycle route and losing valuable minutes that their opponents, Italian athlete Eyob Faniel of Eritrean origin, took advantage of to claim victory.

The Italian runner seized the opportunity provided by his teammates' mistake and became the first to cross the finish line, ahead of Eritrean Mohammed Mussa, who finished with a time of 2 hours, 15 minutes, and 14 seconds, and Moroccan Tarik Bemaarouf, who finished with a time of 2 hours, 16 minutes, and 40 seconds.

In a tweet, the video of the Italian's victory was shared, as he triumphed over world athletics powerhouses in his own country.
