The Alcorcón continues to strengthen its squad

The Alcorcón continues to work on closing its squad as soon as possible and has made its eleventh signing official: Marko Dmitrovic. The Serbian goalkeeper arrives on loan from the English Charlton Athletic, a club belonging to the Roland Duchatelet network. A goalkeeper who stood out in his U21 period, when he became an international and played the 2013 Eurocup. However, the Serbian, despite being a player with great potential, has stagnated in recent years. In fact, since 2011 he has only played 20 official matches, conceding 28 goals.

Marko Dmitrovic's career

Marko Dmitrovic was trained at Red Star Belgrade, where he reached the first team. However, he could not debut in an official match with the Serbian team. After two seasons without opportunities, from 2011 to 2013, he decided to change scenery. During those two seasons, Dmitrovic excelled in the Serbian youth categories. He was an U19 international (playing two matches and conceding three goals) and later U21. With his national team, he achieved his greatest successes being a starter in the qualifying phase of the 2013 Eurocup, which he also played. In total, he played 18 matches and conceded 20 goals before leaving Red Star.

His time at Ujpest and Charlton

In 2013 he signed for Ujpest, a club also owned by Belgian businessman Duchatelet. In the Hungarian team, he also did not have continuity. He could only play a total of 13 matches (12 in the league and one in the cup), conceding 19 goals. However, he was crowned cup champion with his team. One season later, he packed his bags again and headed to Charlton, another team in Duchatelet's network. Things did not improve in England and he had another almost blank season. He played five matches and conceded eight goals. Thus, Charlton and Alcorcón reached an agreement for his loan for one season. The Serbian now has to fight for the starting position with Ismael Falcón and Dani Jiménez, although his arrival could lead to the departure of the player from Cádiz. He is already in Estepona under the orders of Juan Ramón López Muñiz and tomorrow in the friendly match against Linares in the Marbella Center (19:00 hours) he could have his first minutes in yellow...
