Brazil vs. Chile will be played on Tuesday October 10th (6:30 p.m. Peruvian time) at Allianz Parque, for the last match of the Russia 2018 Qualifiers.
A matter of life or death. Chile needs to win against Brazil to achieve qualification to the World Cup, something unprecedented in the history of South American qualifiers, where the 'Roja' has never been able to score during their visits to Brazilian soil.
Brazil and Chile have faced each other five times in the World Cup qualifying round with the 'Scratch' as the home team, and all have resulted in a Brazilian victory.
Chile's negative record in Brazilian soil is even worse if you consider the defeats in the 1919 and 1949 Copa America, as well as the draws in the 1922 edition and in the 2014 World Cup.
For this match, Juan Antonio Pizzi's team will not be able to count on Arturo Vidal or Francisco Silva due to suspension, but they will have two of their best weapons with lights on, Alexis Sánchez and Eduardo Vargas, authors of the goals in the victory against Ecuador.
Brazil, on the other hand, will face this match without pressure as they are already qualified for the World Cup and will seek to give their fans a victory in the closing of the Russia 2018 Qualifiers.
