A few hours had passed since the valuable draw achieved by the Peruvian national team in Buenos Aires and enthusiasm took hold of them. Abraham Tueros and Pierina Rúa, a young couple of just 18 years old, got married wearing national team jerseys, in a massive wedding celebrated in Ventanilla.
The young couple confessed to be fans of the national team and stated that the gesture of dressing with the red stripe on their chest was spontaneous. Abraham Tueros and Pierina Rúa have been together for four years and have two children. One is four years old and the other is just four months old.
This gesture adds to other demonstrations of enthusiasm that have been registered in the last week. In Ayacucho, a prosecutor read a sentence dressed in a national team jersey. Likewise, students from different schools in Lima and Peru went to class wearing the national team outfit.
The Peruvian national team plays a decisive match tomorrow against their Colombian counterpart, in the last round of the World Cup Qualifiers for Russia 2018. A victory would put our team in a World Cup after 36 years. Although depending on some results, a draw or even a defeat could lead them to the playoffs for a place in the World Cup.
