Marcelo Bielsa disappointed with Lille's performance
Argentine coach Marcelo Bielsa, the head of ambitious project of Lille, admitted to be "very disappointed" for not meeting the expectations, after losing 4-0 against Monaco in the seventh round of the French league.
"It is impossible not to be worried. I feel responsible for the situation. I am very sorry for the price paid by the players, but it is the reality they must face. I am very disappointed for not meeting the expectations," said Bielsa after the match.
These statements come two days after a great anger in the press room, when he described journalists as "despicable company".
With his head down, Bielsa spoke calmly to a dozen journalists on Friday. "It is a match in which we have been surpassed at all levels. At no point during the match could we reach the level of our adversary," said the 'Loco'.
"We have run a lot, Monaco has run less, but better. We have tried to provoke mistakes and we have not succeeded," he added.
"The alternatives that I tried to give to the team did not work. Everything we tried to do, in our playing project, was neutralized by the adversary," he continued.
"I have no arguments to justify the differences that we have seen on the field," he concluded.
