Inter Milan plans to search for a replacement for Joao Miranda
Although he has started in all three Serie A matches played so far and is still part of the Brazil national team's plans, the board of Inter Milan believes it is time to start searching for a player who can inherit Joao Miranda's position. Miranda, the center-back who turned 33 on September 7th, is the target of this search.
Possible replacements
According to Tuttosport, Inter Milan already has a preliminary list of possible replacements. One of them is the Uruguayan José María Giménez (Atletico Madrid, 22 years old), who has been a subject of speculation in the past. The list also includes other players such as the Frenchman Issa Diop (Toulouse, 20), the Danish Andreas Christensen (Chelsea, 21), and the Croatian Filip Benkovic (Dinamo Zagreb, 20).
Other considerations
Inter Milan has also considered the signing of another defender who has been performing at a high level in recent times, the Brazilian Felipe Monteiro (28 years old). However, his club, Porto, has set his price at a whopping €50 million, which has led to his exclusion from the list of potential signings, for the time being.
