The Jacksonville Jaguars have been in Houston for so long that they now have their own gym.

The team was forced to stay an extra night in Houston on Monday due to Hurricane Irma, a stressful situation for the players and coaches, as well as their families waiting back home.

"It's very difficult," said coach Doug Marrone on Monday during a teleconference with reporters. "You're watching the news and figuring out if everything is okay with the family... that's what all of our resources are focused on right now: ensuring the well-being of the people in Jacksonville."

The Jaguars remained in Houston after their 29-7 victory against the Texans with the impending approach of the hurricane. They had to add an extra night because Jacksonville's airport remained closed on Monday after the storm hit. The St. Johns River recorded historic flooding, resulting in evacuations in the city center.

Stranded in Houston, the Jaguars tried to maintain their routine. Although Texans coach Bill O'Brien offered them his team's facilities, Marrone chose to take his players to a YMCA gym for a workout.

Jacksonville is scheduled to host the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. Marrone said that authorities are assessing the damage that EverBank Field may have suffered in order to determine whether the game can be played as scheduled. It could also be moved to Nashville, Tennessee, or postponed to a later date.

The NFL stated that no decision has been made about next weekend's games, according to Joe Lockhart, the league's vice president of communications. Tampa Bay's postponed debut is scheduled to take place at home against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, but it's still unclear how Raymond James Stadium fared.

The Miami Dolphins, another Florida-based team, evacuated Miami ahead of the hurricane and relocated to Oxnard, California, this week in order to make their season debut. The Dolphins will have their weekly meeting on Tuesday and resume training from Wednesday at the Dallas Cowboys' facility.

The Dolphins' first home game is scheduled for October 8th in Tennessee. A year ago, Miami's stadium was equipped with a canopy that can withstand a Category 4 hurricane.

It was reported that a tornado formed near the stadium during Irma's passage, and engineers will assess the canopy on Tuesday to see if it sustained any damage, according to a source informed of the situation by The Associated Press.

The Dolphins will kick off their campaign on Sunday with a visit to the Los Angeles Chargers. The Dolphins and the Buccaneers were supposed to start their campaigns last Sunday, but that game was postponed to November 19th due to Irma.
