The Baja Aragón begins with the prologue stage
The Baja Aragón kicked off with the prologue stage, in which Nasser Al Attiyah prevailed among the cars and Gerard Farrés in motorcycles. In a 5-kilometer route near Teruel, under scorching heat, the over 300 participants of the event faced the appetizer of what promises to be one of the most exciting editions of the race.
Victory for Nasser Al Attiyah in the cars category
Nasser Al Attiyah claimed victory in the cars category, defeating Nani Roma by 3.6 seconds, who finished second behind the Qatari. The Argentine Orly Terranova completed the Mini trio, but couldn't secure fourth place as the Spanish Joan Roca with his buggy Schlesser managed to sneak in. Debutant Mikko Hirvonen finished in fifth position.
Gerard Farrés leads in motorcycles
Gerard Farrés, last year's winner, emerged victorious in motorcycles and is on his way to his fifth triumph aboard a KTM. Roberto Borrego came in second and Marc Sola in third, both riding Yamahas. Laia Sanz finished eighth and reduced her chances of victory. "I compete on a rally bike, and it's impossible to win with this type of machinery in this race," she said.
