The coach of Arsenal, Arsene Wenger, acknowledged that his club offered 100 million euros for the French midfielder Thomas Lemar, and pointed out that he is still interested in the player.
The French coach indicated on the Téléfoot program of the "TF1" channel that the transfer did not take place because Lemar preferred to stay in Monaco.
The refusal, he advanced, has not diminished his interest in the midfielder, whom he said is "very balanced" and "quite complete" both defensively and offensively.
Lemar, 21, scored two of the four goals with which France beat the Netherlands last Thursday in the group A qualifying match for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
