Late goals keep Peru alive in World Cup Qualifiers

Fans who attended yesterday's match between Peru and Bolivia must still be scared. The term "sweating cold" never made more sense than yesterday, and -if we remember- in the previous match, where we defeated Uruguay (2-1), but we suffered until the end, just like last night.

92 minutes and 50 seconds: De Arrascaeta's cross goes towards the Peruvian area, Godin prevails over the defense and his header goes towards the post and then bounces centimeters outside the goal line and that's it. If that didn't go in, nothing else would have. Seconds before the end of the match, Peru saw how luck had not yet announced a "game over" and said "you still have one more life".

Another last-minute situation that allows us to continue with the life support that keeps us alive in these Qualifiers.

A draw at the end -in either of the two matches- would have been deadly, fatal, for the national interests. But this time, even luck is on our side. Let's keep going, because on Tuesday we have to win at the Atahualpa stadium in Quito, to continue believing, to continue fighting.
