Alonso Collantes de Riglos claims second consecutive sunfish world championship title
Alonso Collantes de Riglos propels himself with an air of a winner. The Peruvian sailor was crowned as the sunfish world champion for the second time after winning this year's competition in New Jersey.
At the Brant Beach Sailing Foundation in the American state, Alonso Collantes de Riglos sailed impeccably to claim victory. He entered the final day as the leader and successfully maintained his position.
This morning, the last two races were held and Alonso finished the competition strongly by placing fourth in one race and fifth in the final race.

Out of the twelve races in the competition, Alonso Collantes de Riglos won six and came second in another. His worst placement was in the sixth race when he finished 17th, and in the fifth race when he finished 10th, but those scores are erased by the discard system.
Alonso Collantes repeated the success he achieved last year in Cartagena, Colombia. This title earned him the honor of being awarded the Deportivo Laureles.
