"The poor performance of American referee Mark Geiger caused
the victory of the eleventh of the United Mexican States, which must be rejected
and vigorously condemned," said the Parliament of Panama in a note released yesterday Thursday.
Geiger awarded two dubious penalties to Mexico: the first one minute
after the end of regulation time, when Panama was winning 1-0, and the
second in the first half of the thirty-minute extension.
The Panamanian Parliament called for "immediate changes" and declared
in favor of "incorporating technological means in decision-making"
arbitral.
Supported the Panamanian Football Federation and the Panamanian Institute
of Sports "in all actions they intend to carry out in relation
to the game."
The federation has requested today the removal of the Refereeing Commission
of the North, Central American and Caribbean Football Confederation (Concacaf).
