Title of Chile in Copa América
It is still being analyzed the title of Chile in Copa América and it was the turn of Claudio Borghi to highlight the achievement of La Roja, the first in its history in the continental tournament.
In the Fox Sports Radio program, the former coach of La Roja praised the work of his former players and his successor on the bench, Jorge Sampaoli.
"I liked Chile because they were always protagonists. I was surprised by the last match with the modifications that Sampaoli made. It worked very well. That match has great merit, Sampaoli, because what he proposed turned out quite well," analyzed the coach.
Comparing this tournament with Argentina 2011, where La Roja fell to Venezuela in the quarterfinals, Bichi commented that "Chile had advantages that we didn't have. Sampaoli was lucky to find players at a stronger mental and emotional level. With us, they were a little younger."
Despite the great present of the national team, Borghi has already alerted about what is coming in the future. "Three cups ago, it was the youngest team and today it is the greatest. It's worrisome that there is no natural renewal. We will see what happens with the U17 national team."
Regarding the historical place that this squad occupies, the former Colo Colo coach considered that "of the national teams I have seen, the one from '87 seemed extraordinary to me. This one surpasses it because it has the title. I hope it's the takeoff of Chilean soccer."
