Marco Silva, the Portuguese coach, managed the Peruvian national team player when he played for Sporting Lisbon. Thus, the 26-year-old forward will play for the first time outside Portugal.
André Carrillo left Alianza Lima in 2011 to join the Lisbon team, where he played 160 matches and won the 2014-2015 Portuguese Cup.
Last season, he played 26 matches for Benfica, where he never managed to establish himself as a starter. Carrillo has also represented the Peruvian national team in 35 matches.
