Águila League, chapter 3: the 20 clubs in action for the first time. Preview of the third matchday of the Colombian Professional Football League, starting this Thursday.

The third matchday of the Liga Aguila II stands out for two characteristics: it will be the first with 20 clubs and will be played over four days.

One match on Thursday, another on Friday, four on Saturday and four on Sunday are part of the schedule for the matchday that brings the following panorama:

No crowd and no coaches

Deportivo Cali and Uniautonoma open the matchday on Thursday night, behind closed doors at the Palmaseca stadium due to bad behavior by the local fans in the final against Medellin. The curious thing is that both teams come with their suspended coaches. Cali, under 'Pecoso', has three points and La U, under Giovanni Hernandez, has one draw and one loss.

The third for Equidad?

The question is: will anything happen to Santiago Escobar's future if Equidad suffers its third consecutive defeat? The Bogota team, which lost against Santa Fe and Deportivo Cali, visits Envigado on Friday, which is looking for its second consecutive victory after winning against Deportes Tolima at Techo.

Jaguares puts its undefeated streak at stake

Deportivo Pasto, which drew 0-0 against Millonarios in the debut, returns home to shake off the thrashing it suffered from Cortulua in the previous matchday. Jaguares wants to end the matchday with seven points in the table: they defeated Cali away from home, drew in Monteria against Huila and now go for Nariño.

The leader travels to Tunja

Santa Fe, the best team in the start of the league after thrashing Equidad and Cucuta, visits Boyaca Chico with the aim of reaching nine points and maintaining the lead. Their opponent has only played one match: the one they lost last weekend against Alianza Petrolera. The match on the first matchday against Tolima was postponed due to the unavailability of La Independencia stadium.

El Verde in Armenia

One of the interesting matches of the weekend features Atletico Huila and Nacional. A good turnout is expected at the Centenario stadium, which usually dons green when the Antioquia club plays. Reinaldo Rueda's team is undefeated after one victory (against Aguilas) and one draw (against Medellin). Jose Fernando Santa's team has yet to win (they lost at home against Patriotas and drew away against Jaguares).

Semifinal of Apertura 2015

The last time Medellin and Tolima faced each other was in the penultimate phase of Liga Aguila I, when they fought for a ticket to the final that DIM would lose against Cali. Now they face each other with the common point that neither has scored three points. Tolima, who has postponed the match against Chico, lost at home against Envigado; while Medellin has accumulated two points, with draws against Once Caldas and Nacional.

Alianza, for nine out of nine

There are only three clubs with a perfect score. Alianza Petrolera is one of them. They won in their debut against Uniautonoma and in the second matchday against Boyaca Chico. Both were at home, so their debut as visitors will be at the Alberto Grisales in Rionegro, where Aguilas Doradas awaits them, who lost against Nacional and drew against Uniautonoma.

Millonarios debuts at El Campin

The blue team meets their fans again after almost two months. The fans expect their first victory in the tournament against Once Caldas, who has also been unable to celebrate (draws against Medellin and Junior). Millos did not play in matchday 2 due to the postponement of the match against Patriotas.

Clash of the undefeated

Junior, fifth with four points, and Cortulua, second with six points, will dispute one of the most interesting matches on Sunday. Depending on the result of Santa Fe in Tunja, the leadership will be at stake. Alexis Mendoza's team returns to the Metropolitano, where they already defeated Cucuta. The two Tuluá victories were against Envigado and Pasto.

The need of Cucuta

The Red and Black fans can't handle another defeat. Not only because the team, coming off a thrashing by Santa Fe, is in last place in the championship, but also because of their position at the bottom of the relegation table. General Santander receives a visit from Patriotas, who won against Huila in the first matchday and did not play against Millonarios in the second.
