José Guadalupe Cruz regretted the absences that Atlas has had in this start of the Apertura 2017, especially that of their captain Rafa Márquez.

José Guadalupe Cruz doesn't make excuses. The coach of Atlas knows that his team is going through a very complicated moment after suffering their third consecutive defeat. However, the Profe remains calm and affirms that solutions must be found to reverse this bad moment.

That being said, Profe Cruz acknowledges that the absences have hit his team hard, especially that of their captain Rafael Márquez.

"It seems like something strange is happening in our environment; first there was Rafa's situation, then Clifford's, and let's not forget that we have been without Leitn Jiménez and Cándido Ramírez for the entire tournament; we practically won't have them for this tournament and obviously that conditions you. Rafa's importance to us is incredible. It's his influence, what he brings to the game, both on and off the field, of course we miss him."

Regarding the match, the coach of Atlas pointed out that the referee's mistake in expelling Jaine Barreiro influenced the course of the game.

"It's not the same to play 10 against 11 as it is to play 10 against 10, especially when it's done unjustly, in my opinion. I don't see any contact, there's nothing to judge to justify the expulsion, definitely that affects you psychologically because you feel attacked and in a way it's like the first expulsion (Omar Mendoza's) was compensated, but it's not our fault, so Atlas shouldn't have to suffer for that."

That being said, José Guadalupe admitted that his team has been unfocused in the last few matches. "Do you know what's most concerning apart from the three defeats? It's the first halves against América and Cruz Azul, where we have entered a very low rhythm, it seems like we lack concentration, lack intensity, on top of that we make mistakes that players of this caliber don't forgive. We need to see what we're doing wrong and correct it immediately because we have the rematch on Tuesday."

Regarding Caraglio's injury, the rojinegro coach stated that he had to have the wound in his upper jaw sutured, that he's conscious, and will only be out while he recovers from this injury.
