After an injury ruined his official farewell from Athletics at the World Championships in London, Usain Bolt could continue to be involved in the sport. The British press reported on Wednesday that an English football club is interested in signing the winner of eight Olympic gold medals.
The club in question is Burton Albion from the Championship (Second Division) in England, which through its president, Ben Robinson, will make a formal offer to the Jamaican athlete to trial with the first team and if successful, make his debut in professional football.
"I am sure we could (offer him the option to trial) and I am sure the manager (Nigel Clough) would. He would be very fast anyway!", said Robinson in an interview with The Sun.
"If he can show the same enthusiasm and dedication for football, who knows how far he could go? The quality in the Championship is high and he, as is normal, would need a minimum quality to enter the team," he emphasized.
