The senior volleyball team from Peru landed yesterday morning in Cali, Colombia, where the South American Championship will start today. The champion of this championship will be granted a ticket to the 2018 Japan World Championship.

Starting at 7 p.m. (broadcasted by Movistar Deportes), Peru will play against Colombia at the Evangelista Mora Coliseum. After that, they will face Argentina, Venezuela, Brazil, and Chile, in that order, until Saturday 19th. The team with the most points will win, there will be no final.
After participating in Group 2 of the World Grand Prix of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), the 'matadoras' trained for two weeks twice a day at the Videna CAR, under the direction of the Brazilian coach Luizomar de Moura.
In addition, in a friendly match played last Wednesday 9th at the Bonilla Coliseum in Miraflores, they defeated the runner-up of the Brazilian Super League, Osasco Voleibol Clube, which is also coached by Luizomar de Moura.
