Zidane Renews Contract with Real Madrid

After winning two Champions Leagues, two European Super Cups, one League and one Club World Cup, French coach Zinedine Zidane has renewed his contract with Real Madrid, the "merengue" club, until 2020.

In a press conference prior to the Spanish Super Cup match against Barcelona at Camp Nou, he announced that he will continue in the dugout for three more years.

"I do not have a buyout clause. I am here and I enjoy every day. Someday it will end and our relationship does not depend on contracts or money. I am very happy for the trust the club has placed in me," he expressed.

The renewal comes after Zidane has won two Champions Leagues, two European Super Cups, one League, and one Club World Cup with Real Madrid in 20 months at the helm of the club.

The numbers are another factor that support him. In 88 official matches he has coached, he has achieved 67 victories, 14 draws, and only seven defeats.

"I can sign for 20 years, but I know where I am and what I have to do. Within a year, I may not be here anymore, and that's it. Real Madrid and I will never argue. I enjoy this job," he concluded.
