Arsenal's Optimism Fades in the Alexis Sánchez Case
Not even the victories (4-3 against Leicester, at the start of the Premier League) seem to hide Arsenal's great saga. In a new chapter, Arsene Wenger stated this time, on the French channel SFR Sport, that he is no longer as optimistic in Alexis Sánchez's case. Has he changed his mind? Or his strategy?
"Alexis Sánchez is an Arsenal player in the short term. Will we manage to renew his contract? We didn't succeed last season, so I don't feel super optimistic in that sense," declared the London team's coach.
For now, August 31st will mark the closing of the transfer market in Europe. Will the striker be sold this year? Wenger, in this matter, still thinks the same when he has the press microphones close by: "we have every intention of not selling him."
