Boxers Ready for "Champions' Blood" Function
The boxers who will participate in the "Champions' Blood" function that will take place this Friday night at the Olympic Arena Laguna in Gomez Palacio are ready and weighed. Various professional and amateur fights will be held.
Yesterday, the weigh-in ceremony took place outside the AOL, where, except for Andrés "Pollo" Bustamante, who had to lose a few grams, the rest of the fighters passed the scale.
In the main fight, the undefeated Julio "El Canelo" Luna, from Gomez Palacio, will face the experienced Andrés "Pollo" Bustamante in the Welter category, for 8 rounds.
To witness the weigh-in, the Commissioner of Boxing and Wrestling of Gomez Palacio, Fernando Guzmán, was present, giving his approval.
The first boxer registered 66.700 kilos, while the second weighed 68.000, so he had to leave the weigh-in to jog for half an hour and weigh himself again, successfully making weight on the second attempt.
Julio Luna Ávila is currently undefeated with 8 fights won, 4 knockouts, and 1 draw. He won his last fight by pure chloroform, knocking out Misael Saucedo on June 9th at the UDT Gymnasium in Torreón.
Bustamante, also from Gomez Palacio, has a record of 6 fights won, 1 KO, and 7 losses. He already has international experience, having fought in the United States three times.
On the other hand, for the semifinal fight of the night, Heriberto "Golfo" Pérsico Amador weighed 64.000 kilos, the same as his opponent, Héctor "Tizoc" Mendoza. They will fight for 6 rounds in the 64.00 kilos category.
In the third professional fight, but with a feminine touch, Wendy "Canelita" Luna will face Brenda "La Güerita" Araujo. Both weighed 53 kilos, so they are ready.
The doors of the Olympic Arena Laguna will open at 8:00 pm.
