The Peruvian team Infamous Gaming, formed by Benjamín ‘Benjaz’ Lanaos, Renato ‘Kingteka’ García, Enzo ‘Timado’ Gianoli, Christian ‘Accel’ Cruz and Farith ‘Mathew’ Puente, is ready in Seattle (United States) to continue with their participation in “The International 2017”, the most important Dota 2 competition in the world. This Sunday they received a replica of the national flag from Miguel Ángel Velásquez, the Consul General of Peru in that city.

The competition, in which the national team managed to qualify for the main event, will last until August 12. The best teams in the world will compete for a total of 23 million dollars in prizes.

“In Infamous Gaming, we not only evaluate talent, but also teamwork and commitment. We seek to work hard on goals and always make a difference as a team. These recent achievements are a demonstration of effort and teamwork,” says Christian Roque, Manager of Infamous Gaming.

The Peruvian team, the top representative of Latin America, has generated a lot of expectations among specialized press. Since 2015, Infamous Gaming had the projection of professionalizing eSports in Peru, especially with Dota 2. Their victories in international tournaments, such as the WESG American Finals Brazil, WESG World Finals, and Galaxy Battles in China, position them as one of the favorites.

Three months before starting the TI7 (The International) qualifications, Infamous Gaming rethought its strategy and changed its players. They added Abraham ‘Kingkteka’ Canez and Enzo ‘Timado’ Gianoli. With them, they achieved the incredible feat of winning the playoffs without losing any games, with a total of 7-0, including a 3-0 victory against SG e-sports from Brazil in the final of the South American qualifiers. In this way, Infamous Gaming's Dota 2 team became the first from the country and the region to qualify for TI7.

In the group stage, the Peruvian squad surprised from the first day with a tie against Team Secret, a highly skilled European team. After a couple of games in which no points were achieved, Infamous decided to change their strategies. Thanks to this, they decisively defeated IG Vitality (2-0). This score allowed them to qualify and eliminate the Asian team Fnatic due to point differences.

Now, Infamous is already among the top 16 teams in the world and will not stop until they are crowned champions.
