The Disciplinary Committee released the report of sanctioned individuals in Matchday 2 of the Apertura 2017, with seven players and three members of the coaching staff being sanctioned, where eight depart with a one-match suspension and two with a double one.

The Disciplinary Commission released the report of sanctioned players in Matchday 2 of Apertura 2017, with seven players and three members of the coaching staff being sanctioned, where eight will serve a one-match suspension and two will serve a two-match suspension.

Notable Suspensions

Alejandro Donatti from Xolos de Tijuana and Miguel Ángel Ponce from Rayos del Necaxa were suspended for two matches; the former for being guilty of violent conduct, while the latter for being guilty of serious foul play.

Suspensions for Coaching Staff

José Manuel de la Torre, coach of Santos Laguna, Juan Luna Eslava, assistant coach of Cruz Azul, and Julio Luis Muñoz, fitness coach of La Máquina, were suspended for one match for constant complaints or protesting the decisions made by the members of the refereeing team.

Player Suspensions

Guido Rodríguez from América, Adrián Aldrete from Cruz Azul, Edwin Hernández from Guadalajara, and Enner Valencia from Tigres were all suspended for one match after accumulating their second yellow card, while José María Basanta from Monterrey will not participate in the next match due to serious foul play.

Fine for Club President

Lastly, it was reported that Jesús Martínez, president of Pachuca club, will have to pay a fine for approaching the refereeing team at the end of the match between Tuzos and Club América at Estadio Hidalgo, although the Hidalgo team had justified that their executive had gone down to greet the referees.
