Pompilio Páez, assistant coach of Juan Carlos Osorio, dismissed the elimination of the national team in the 2017 Gold Cup after losing 1-0 to Jamaica as a failure, as the team tried to reach the final of the tournament where the Caribbean team will face the United States.
"I don't like the word failure, people are free to have their opinions. When you try so many things, I don't see such a thing", said the right arm of the Colombian strategist at a press conference.
In the same way, Pompilio admitted that "football rewarded them (Jamaica)", although "Mexico carried the weight of the match but lacked efficiency".
Páez, who was in charge of the team in this Gold Cup, warned that he sees "a team that is the future of the national team in the medium term".
