After being out since February due to a metabolic disorder, the German international put on his boots again in a match in which Dortmund beat the Japanese team Urawa Red Diamonds 3-2 with a brace from Emre Mor and another goal from André Schürrle.
Götze entered the field in the 64th minute of the friendly match to replace Nuri Sahin.
Dortmund began their preseason training last week under the orders of Dutchman Peter Bosz, the team's new coach replacing Thomas Tuchel.
