Sevilla presents Banega and Pizarro as new signings

Sevilla presented Argentinians Éver Banega and Guido Pizarro on Monday. Banega arrives from Inter Milan while Pizarro comes from Tigres of Mexico.

Éver Banega stated that "the most important thing" for his return to Sevilla was his "need to play in stronger competitions". His compatriot Guido Pizarro highlighted that he fulfills his dream of playing in Europe.

Éver Banega, who signed a three-year contract, valued "the sporting project" as one of the reasons for his return to the club where he played during the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons, winning two UEFA Europa League titles. He also mentioned that "Sevilla has been competing well for several years".

Éver Banega, 29, said that he hopes to "give his best, just like last time" he played for Sevilla, "and even more".

"I don't regret leaving, that's in the past and now I am very eager. I come here to work at my best for this club," added Éver Banega.

On the other hand, Guido Pizarro stated that his "childhood aspiration was to play in Europe and when the opportunity to join such an important club like Sevilla presents itself, you have to take advantage of it."

Guido Pizarro, 27, who signed a four-year contract, highlighted that "the Mexican league is not very well known in Europe, but it is very competitive in America." He described himself as "a defensive midfielder with plenty of energy, who tries to help his teammates and ask for the ball in order to make plays."

Guido Pizarro admitted that "due to physical characteristics," both him and his new teammate, Frenchman Steven N'Zonzi, "may have some similarities" as they are "tall and skinny." However, he pointed out that N'Zonzi "plays in more advanced positions" while he acts "as a holding midfielder in front of the center-backs."
