Sporting Lisbon completed the signing of French player Jéremy Mathieu, who was criticized several times by Barcelona fans due to his unstable performance in important matches last season. As a result, they did not hesitate to let him go when they received the first interesting offer.

The Italian newspaper La Gazzetta revealed that Barcelona is interested, but the high price would be a major impediment for the transfer to happen.
