Real Garcilaso: Brian Sarmiento left the field crying, amidst applause, and lashed out against the leaders in Banfield [VIDEO]

Lunes 26 de Junio del 2017

Former Real Garcilaso midfielder could not bear the sadness and left the field in tears after Banfield's defeat against Racing on the last matchday of the Argentine First Division.

"The one who has blood in their veins feels these things". With this phrase, Brian Sarmiento, former player of Real Garcilaso and currently of Banfield, left in tears after the last match his team played in this season of the Argentine First Division, but amidst applause from the fans who supported his work.

But they weren't tears of happiness, but of deep sadness. The Argentine tournament is not over yet and the 'Taladro' could lose their spot in the next Copa Libertadores after losing 3-1 to Racing Club. That, plus the frustration of having fought for the title until the end "alone", as the midfielder himself pointed out, made him unable to hold back and cry.

"When someone has blood running through their veins, they become sad. This may be my last match with the Banfield shirt and today we died alone. One learns to love a club and I love Banfield and the people", recognized the Argentine midfielder who wore the Real Garcilaso shirt in 2015 under the guidance of Mariano Soso.

But the statements didn't end there: "I felt sorry to end the tournament like this. We were always alone with the coaching staff, the players, and with the support of the fans", he said. He was asked in an interview with TyC Sports if he was referring to the executives and he repeated "we were always alone".

Now that Mariano Soso has arrived at Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata, there may be a chance for the 'Guacho' to work with the one who brought him to Peru.
