Almost half of AS readers think that Real Madrid should sell Cristiano Ronaldo, according to a poll run last Wednesday. Of the 31,474 people who took part, 15,725 (49.96 percent) said 'yes' to the question of whether the Portuguese should be offloaded compared to 15,749 who said 'no' (50.04 percent).
The difference of opinion about the potential sale of the number 7 is much greater than the matter of the price tag that should be applied to the forward. In another poll, the majority of internet readers said that Madrid should at least recoup what was paid to Manchester United for the Portuguese in 2009 and should try to reap between 100 and 150 million euros for the player. 38.61 percent of voters said they would be happy with that financial arrangement.
A further 32.54 percent believe Ronaldo's sale should smash the world transfer record by exceeding 150 million euros. Meanwhile, 16.33 percent said they would be happy with a fee of between 50 and 100 million euros. Only 12.51 percent of voters said they would be happy to see the Ballon d'Or winner leave for less than 50 million euros.
