The BM Guadalajara has confirmed one of the most anticipated news, first reported by AS on Monday: José Javier Hombrados has committed to the alcarreño team for the next season 2015-16.

We can finally confirm the most anticipated news of the summer for BM Guadalajara: the legendary José Javier Hombrados will be the goalkeeper for the alcarreña team starting the 2015/2016 season. After playing for the German team Wetzlar and announcing his retirement from the German league, the Legend Hombrados has chosen the alcarreño club to continue his sports career. Having Jota in goal will mean an increase in quality and experience for BM Guadalajara for the upcoming season, one more reason to come and enjoy good handball at the Municipal David Santamaría Sports Center.

In his recent statements, César Montes spoke about the possible addition of Hombrados as "a dream". Now that it has become a reality, he acknowledges: "We are going to give him all the facilities in the world, since having Hombrados in goal for BM Guadalajara is a real privilege and a guarantee. We are very happy."

The international goalkeeper has two bronze medals in the Olympic Games and one gold medal in the World Championship held in Tunisia in 2005. In terms of clubs, Hombrados played for BM Atlético de Madrid where he won the Copa del Rey (2012 and 2013), the Spanish Supercup (2011), and the Club World Cup. Previously, he played for BM Ciudad Real where he helped win 3 Champions Leagues, 5 Liga ASOBAL, 3 Copa del Rey, 3 European Supercups, 3 Spanish Supercups, and 6 Copa Asobal, as well as the 2010 Club World Cup. He previously defended the goal for Portland San Antonio (Champions League 2002, Liga ASOBAL 2002, Copa del Rey 2001, European Supercup 2001), Ademar León (Europe Cup Winners' Cup 1999, Liga ASOBAL 1999), and CB Cantabria (Champions League 1994, Liga ASOBAL 1994, Copa del Rey).

He was considered the best goalkeeper in the Liga ASOBAL in 2004 and 2005, Best goalkeeper of the Club World Cup (2012). He has the Bronze Medal and Insignia for Sporting Merit 2004, Silver Medal for the Royal Order of Sporting Merit (2007), Gold Plaque for the Royal Order of Sporting Merit (2007), and Silver Plaque for the Royal Order of Sporting Merit (2007).
